“Life is pain. Anyone who says differently is selling something”. This is a quote from one of my favorite movies, “The Princess Bride”.
Pain may be a part of life but it is not its purpose. At its most basic, emotional pain is a response to:
- Lack of control.
At its best, it is a tool to motivate introspection and or change.
Well, I’m selling something, but I’m acknowledging that there is pain in life. However, how much does there have to be? Can some of it be eliminated? Yes. Can other pain be modified or minimized? You bet. Can re-evaluating your perspective, recognizing where traits and thought patterns originate from make a difference? It has, it does, and for better or for worse, it will. The machinations of the mind never stop, and didn’t get to be the way they are by accident. Inner work coupled with practical application is a means of reclaiming the self.
The self-help industry is a billion dollar industry for a reason. People have questions, prayers, and cynicism about life. Many are in pain. Many are stuck. Some don’t know what eats at them. Others are more self-aware but don’t know how, or believe, they can change. And still some struggle with accepting their circumstance and realizing alternatives.
“The Authentic You” is an ebook designed to help people find answers to the “whys” and the “hows” of who they are, how they got to be where they are, and how to get to where they want to go.
In doing so, it will bring the issues and the solutions to the surface in a way that will offer the reader:
- A greater understanding of who he or she is.
- A path.
- As much control as we humans can have.
This is done by lifting the veil the subconscious uses to inhibit the reader from seeing, and bringing into conscious awareness, that which is holding them back. Call them karmic or subconscious ghosts from the past, unresolved conflicts, or patterns both in and out of conscious awareness that have led us down the wrong or incomplete path.
By uncovering and exploring the core four drives of human needs and behavior, The Authentic You crystallizes how we may have gotten off course and inspires us to get back on.
Armed with clarity of meaning and purpose the reader is invited on an esoteric and grounded journey. To start, or continue, on the path to authenticity.
Incorporating psychology, spirituality, astrology, and hypnosis, the book attacks these issues from a holistic perspective. In addition, examples are also drawn from personal experience, sports, music, martial arts, and many areas of life. This is in an effort to communicate to as broad an audience as possible. Practical exercises are offered to help put theory into action.
If you are inspired, give it a read.
Peace and Adventure on the journey.
